Main advantages of cold extrusion

Main advantages of cold extrusion
Cold extrusion is to put the blank into the mold cavity at room temperature, and under strong pressure and a certain speed, force the metal to produce plastic deformation from the cavity to squeeze out the required size, shape and mechanical properties of the product.
Cold extrusion can be carried out on a cold extrusion press, or on an ordinary mechanical press (punch press), hydraulic press, friction press or high-speed hammer.
The main advantages of cold extrusion are as follows:
1. It can obtain parts with high dimensional accuracy and good surface quality. The dimensional accuracy can reach IT7, and the surface roughness can reach 1.6~0.2. The rigidity and strength of the parts obtained by cold extrusion are good, and the fatigue strength of the material is improved. After extrusion, the material produces cold work hardening, the surface hardness of the parts is high, and the wear resistance, anti-corrosion resistance and fatigue resistance are good.
2. Cold extrusion is a less or no cutting process, saving raw materials;
3. Cold extrusion is formed by die, and its production efficiency is very high.
